We want to say a special Thank You to Team Canada 1 for the amazing work they did at the Village of Baan Nuu Rain. The team built a pond, (lots of work gluing the liner together) a pebbled walk way, grassed area and planted some palm trees ... This area will be an oasis for the ladies when they come to the land.. A lovely place to walk and rest as they come to work on their garden and feed their fish and work cleaning the land getting ready for the big move when one day they will all be able to live on the land. This place is an oasis for them..
Team Canada went to the land most days and the ladies came too. Great lunches, by Khun Yai were spread in the sala.. When the team came in for a rest, the ladies ( who had worked alongside them) would treat them to a wonderful Thai massage.
Carol taught some of the ladies to crochet and even Lek was able to learn. How amazing!! They sang together, prayed together and hugged. New friendships were made, even through the language barrier. Isn’t it amazing what a smile, a prayer and a hug will do!!!!
