There has never been a time in our journey with the ladies of Nuu Rain that has not been exciting.  Every day has lead us into new challenges as we endeavour to minister to these women of worth.  But, the air seems to be super charged with excitement as we move into a new era here in Chiang mai………..the building of Baan Nuu Rain Village.

Nuu Rain has now paid for 8 rai of land (3.2 acres/1.3 hectares), which has been legally surveyed, marked with survey pins and has been registered with the Thai Land Office.  We will fundraise for the remaining 4 rai, which needs to be paid in full by Sept. 2011.  But for now, we are ready to build, and this is very exciting!!!!!!

At this time, our plan is to build one of the Mother/Children Homes and move Miat Soe and her 3 children….Som O, Biew & Branni into this home by the time we leave Thailand at the end of April 2011.  Miat Soe is from the Karen Hill Tribe and is a very capable farmer.  She has prepared/planted most of our garden on the property, and we need her to be there to attend to the weeding/watering.  Thai schools close for their summer break in April, so this would be a good time for the children to change schools.

Many of you have asked about the costs involved to build the different homes and support buildings.  As we investigate the art of building in Thailand, we are finding new ways to cut costs.  The costs which we quote are subject to material costs and the ever climbing Thai baht………….
